Swing That Thing is proud to present to you a massive day of non-stop dancing with not 1, but 2 workshops featuring world class teachers flown in specially for the occasion 😎 Join the Sydney Swing Kats for 4 hours of workshops which include dance, aerials and dips. 4 hours not enough? Keep the fun going with a sensational evening of social dancing at the stunning Queens Theatre which includes 2 live swing bands and delicious cocktails all night - a special thanks to our creative partners at The Adelaide Jazz Festival and The Queens Theatre for co-hosting the collaboration of the year! The rundown: Workshop 1 9:30am - 11:30am Content: Fundamentals, Foundations, Flips and Dip Pre-requisites: Comfortable with basic Lindy Hop in both 6 and 8 count. Must register with a partner (due to the aerials and dip portion of the workshop) Hour 1: Dance Hour 2: Air and Dips BREAK Workshop 2 12:15pm - 2:15pm Content: Intermediate - Advanced dancing techniques and movements. More complex air and dips using the foundations and fundamentals learnt in the previous workshop Pre-requisites: comfortable dancing to more advanced Lindy Hop ( 6 and 8 count) and comfortable with Charleston and Jitterbug styles Must register with a partner (due to the aerials and dip portion of the workshop) Must have attended workshop 1 to attend workshop 2 Hour 1: Dance Hour 2: Air and Dips SOCIALS Doors to The Queens Theatre opening at 4 Band 1 - Lucky Seven Swing @ 4:30 - 6:30 Band 2 - Swing Quartet @ 7:00 till late PRICING Full package: includes entry to both workshops + entry to evening social $145 per person for the first 30 registered $160 per person after Workshops only: includes entry to both workshops only $125 per person Workshop + Social: includes entry to workshop 1 and social $75 per person Social: includes entry to just social event $15 per person Important points: Students must register with a partner for the workshops - please email Melissa Burke at [email protected] with the couples full names after registering via Eventbrite. To attend workshop 2, you must attend workshop 1. First 30 to register the full package will receive the discounted price. Note the floor at the workshops studio is grippy - we recommend very slippery shoes for the dance section or to wear socks. Students must be at the workshop venue 15 minutes prior to the start of the workshops. Please pack your own lunch and water bottle as the break isn't very long between.
