Swingdans på Kajen

The Culture Yard invites you inside to a huge dance floor, where you can dance lindy hop and swing dance to the coolest orchestra and to DJ music. The internationally recognized Swedish trumpeter and singer Björn Ingelstam - a Scandinavian jazz comet - will providing the live music this special evening in the city of Hamlet. Björn Ingelstam belongs to a generation of young modern jazz nomads. He lives in Paris, but plays all over Europe and is a recurring figure on the Scandinavian jazz scene, e.g. for large swing events, the Stockholm Jazz Festival and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. The echo of Ellington and all the other great swing composers will be played and the swing beat goes on for hours Everyone can join the party – Swingshoes introduces Sheila Bouten and Johan Selander from Swingshoes will give everyone an introduction to swing dancing and lindy hop before the the live musics begins. They are some of the best swing dancers in Denmark and have both taught at an international level. Together, they will ensure that all the basic steps are in place before the live music and DJ starts, so that everyone can join in this evening. På Dansk : Lørdag den 13 maj – vil ekkoet fra Ellington og alle de andre store swing komponister kunne høres og ikke mindst danses til på Kulturværftet. Vi omdanner Store Scene til et kæmpe dansegulv og danser Lindy Hop/Swing Dans til det sejeste orkester og til DJ musik. Sheila Bouten og Johan Selander fra Swing Danseforeningen Swingshoes kommer og giver alle en introduktion til Swing Dans/Lindy Hop. De er nogle af bedste swingdansere vi har herhjemme og de har begge undervist på international niveau. Sammen vil de sikre, at alle grundtrin er på plads inden det går løs med live musik og DJ, så alle kan være med. Den svenske sanger og trompetist Björn Ingelstam er aftens bandleder på Kulturværftet, og med sig har han et stjerne line- up af musikere, der vil sørge for at Store Scene kommer til at swinge i flere timer.
