When the big bands are really swinging you'll want to as well! The dancers from Swingtown Rebels are collaborating with the Big Band Festival to get everyone dancing this year. Join Angela and Lotus, two of Christchurch's most fun swing dance teachers, for a quick taster class to get you confident getting up on the floor with us to have fun. Jump up on the floor with us to learn a few simple moves of the lindy hop - a fun partnered dance style which developed in synergy with the music of the swing era big bands. Don't worry if you don't have a partner, we'll rotate partners - and the more who join in the more people there are for us to dance with!
