Swung Texas - Saturday December 16th! *With special guest Andrew Sunada*

Swung/TX is a WCS social focused on community, learning as much as we can about the dance, and moving forward. This social is designed for EVERYONE, from beginners first starting out to the champions in our scene. Our goal is to be a part of helping the Austin WCS scene regroup after COVID-19 and make it even better than it was before. Andrew Sunada has been a dancer for all his life, but got into West Coast Swing in college 13 years ago at Oregon State University. He started competing, late night dancing, and taking classes and couldn't get enough. The thing that drove him most into this dance was the freedom it allowed for whatever style anyone brings. Exiting, and reentering swing is an artform itself and the piece of the puzzle that Andrew most likes to push and explore. Andrew is an international allstar competitor who has done 2 rising star routines with his partner Leilani Nakagawa; one performed at the US Open (go learn from her if you're ever in Portland!). He's started getting into teaching more recently and has really enjoyed sharing how fundamentals of swing equip us to express whatever dance we have inside ourselves. He loves teaching, sharing dance knowledge, nerding out about dancing, physical/emotional/spiritual health, comics, whiskey, cigars, gritty foreign action flicks, etc. At heart he is a social dancer first, though competitive dancing is a close second. Please come ask him to dance! Becca Yasskin will be teaching an intro to West Coast Swing workshop for all of your friends who want to join our crazy dance and don't know where to start! This will be happening from 8:30 pm-9:30 pm. BRING A NEWCOMER SPECIAL! Bring a newcomer to the beginner workshop, and both you and them will get 50% off your night! BRING THAT NEWCOMER!
