This movement session is a practice of deep listening through your senses, awakening dormant codes of somatic cognition and unfolding authentic expression. Breathing deeply and flowing freely~ Coming back Home within. . This dance floor will be a safe space to express your process to the outer worlds without needing words. If you desire to converse, please move your conversation to the astroturf foyer outside the door, or take a breather for fresh air outside. Keep voices to a respectable volume when on the street. . All expressions are indeed welcome; please feel empowered to laugh, cry, scream and shout. This is a sober space, to embody your emotions fully without reliance on use of substance. Clear mind, centered hearts. . We are propagating a consent-based culture: please tune in with clear yeses and no's when engaging with others on the dancefloor. This is a judgement free zone. Here is a space to embody what's moving within you. No cameras or footage allowed. One of our team may take photos of the dj to share for their own profiles, yet this isn't a space for recording others in their movement journeys. This is a space of presence and acceptance of all that is. . This will be a space to move to the beat of your heart, the rhythm of the depths of your being, and the spaces in-between sounds. Lion found a great affinity for the Handpan during a time of deep depression where the connection to the instrument kept his heart and soul alive. Lion plays from a deep place of intuition and emotion and loves to co-create with other artists. ~ Iris Hollow ~ Iris Hollow has always been connected to her voice. She grew up participating in vocal competitions and was a part of a musical theatre company for 10 years, performing hundreds of times before moving to British Colombia. Her voice has been featured by award winning Indian film composer Sanchit Balhara and she has toured with with various music projects (including a vaudeville circus) at festivals in Canada and the U.S. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Art in theatre from Simon Fraser University's School for Contemporary Arts and has 10 years of private vocal coaching. In the past she has collaborated with other musicians to host regular weekly sound healing sessions in Mexico, taught clowning and theatre therapy workshops and has recorded many singing videos at sacred sights around the globe. Iris has used her voice as a medium for healing and expression while living with multiple auto immune disorders. Her voice has been an essential part of her lived experience and she feels called to share this modality with others who also want to deepen this connection. Before form, there was vibration and so the voice is our deepest connection to creation. =What to Bring= °Comfortable clothing for movement, water bottle, journal (optional) and an open heart and mind 😊 °For sound bath : eye mask/scarf, blanket, and yoga mat (optional) =Spring Water= We will be providing fresh spring water from Silverdale Spring, Lynn Valley or Kangen water depending on the day.
