The new year opens, and we open with it. Our first Synergy ecstatic dance of the year is Luminous Shift—a space to move, breathe, and listen for what is arriving. We gather for the bright turning and subtle realignments, attuning to what is changing, and letting the body lead the way forward on the fresh current moving through us now. ~This will be the final dance co-facilitated by Haj & Kai. Sheena Medicina is a life-long dancer & Ecstatic Dance journey facilitator. She cooks up fresh mixes of uplifting soundscapes with hints of cumbia, twerk, bass, pop, psychedelic downtempo, tribal electronica, house, organic & world beats, with plenty of funk & throwback tracks in the mix & always a good healthy dose of feminine medicine. Starting with a Qigong warmup practice, we will breathe, stretch and flow into greater alignment with our center of gravity, opening ourselves gently into expanded flexibility, balance and whole-body connection. From this rooted sense of our own empowered core we’ll explore some foundational principles of Contact Improvisation, finding greater fluency in the joy of our shared dance. Expect to open the body, deepen into grounded stability, expand the elastic edges of the myofascia and have a great time exploring the infinite omnidirectional potential of play through dance. Sean T Fox is a student and teacher of Life devoted to personal and global health. As a lifetime Dancer, Daoist Medicine Minister, Yoga and Qigong Teacher, Ceremonialist, Sound Healer and Musician, Sean T has cultivated a broad perspective of wellness which weaves across centuries, continents and cultures.
