Our monthly moment to drop in with deep parts of ourselves & each other through movement. We invite the embers of our inner flame to turn around the central hearth of community & the season of gratitude. More focused on mindset than technique, we'll play at the intersection of Contact Improv and Fusion (partner dancing), and see what we can bring to our shared dances when out in the "wild" of Ecstatic Dance. Eric Spiegel (he/him) is in service of Music, and dedicated to honoring her through improvisation and collaboration. Eric goes to weekends of immersion in individual creative practices and strives to bring the harvest back to his home community. To further foster more of these practices locally, Eric offers his energy as a community connector, facilitator and event organizer for Pulse Partner Dance, Sebastopol Contact Improv, CircleSing Sebastopol and VocaLab. Eric approaches learning each discipline of movement with a focus on deepening in that form - and, loves social dance spaces where we can bring all of our-selves and find the common ground of the moment with other-selves. ~About the DJ~ ZAPHOD Buckminster finds home in life's soundtrack: what sounds can enhance what's right here, waiting to emerge? From mixed CDs in high school, to radio shows in college, to finding E-dance in Santa Cruz 7 years ago, he delights in diversity and loves to experiment. You've been warned! Together with the dancers, he spontaneously curates an ecstatic wave unique to that moment's dance floor. The boundaries of genre give way to a multi-faceted soundscape of African and South American rhythm, world electronica, grimy glitchy bass, and heart-ful melodies aplenty!
