About this Event
Dance comes in all forms, shapes and sizes. We can dance alone in our rooms, in a group or with someone. One of the most fun ways to discover a new perspective in dance is through contact. In this workshop we will discover the fun and subtle lessons that can be learned through dancing with a partner!
The workshop will consist of an easy to follow warm-up and then directly go into the partnering. We will focus on some of the basic techniques of contact improvisation: learning what the correct way of touching is, body weight sharing and weight and movement manipulation. The goal of these this day is to understand more about who to communicate and engage yourself in a dialogue with a partner through movement.
This workshop is about contact and therefor you need to be comfortable with touching another body and to be touched. The environment where we do this is respectful and will all be about
safe communication through contact. Please note that we will not work with gender preferences and requests. The workshop is accessible to all and throughout the workshop you will work
with different partners.
This workshop is for everyone who is interested in understanding more about communication with a partner through movement
