Tango Awaken – 5th Edition This special edition of Tango Awaken takes place within the framework of the Festival and the Preliminaries of the Tango World Championship in Budapest. Led by Antonella Terrazas and Pablo Rodríguez, official judges of the competition, this intensive program offers valuable insights into the roots of tango, with a strong focus on Tango Salón and Tango Milonguero. The program includes technique classes, essential figures, and the legacy of the great masters of the Villa Urquiza style. A central aspect of this intensive is the development of the couple’s identity. Rather than focusing only on aesthetic shapes, we explore how both dancers contribute to the dance: the leader not only creates structure, but the follower is equally invited to express, interpret, and bring depth and personality into the movement. For this edition, Tango Awaken reduces its hours to open the opportunity for more couples to participate. While connected to the competition, the program is open to everyone.
