Tango Awaken VI – Italian Experience Edition (4 nights-5 days) Hello everyone! I’m so happy to finally announce that we are ready for the 6th edition of Tango Awaken… and this time, we’re meeting in Italy! With every edition, Tango Awaken continues to grow and evolve. This time, I wanted to create a slightly different experience—one that still includes deep tango training, but also gives us more opportunities to share special moments together, discover beautiful places, and enjoy everything this journey has to offer. ----------------About the Location--------------------- This edition will take place in Orvieto, one of Italy’s most beautiful medieval towns, located only 1 hour and 20 minutes from Rome by direct train. Orvieto is famous for its stunning cathedral, charming stone streets, breathtaking views, and rich history. Once you arrive, everything is within walking distance, and we will spend our days wandering through the atmosphere of this magical hilltop town. And this time, besides dancing, we will also have more moments to slow down and enjoy the true Italian dolce vita. ---------------Our Home in Orvieto------------------- We will stay in a beautiful historic monastery located in the heart of the old town. The venue offers a spacious dance studio with more than 100 square meters of wooden floor, comfortable rooms for different budgets and preferences, and breakfast included every morning. Being right in the center means that once we arrive, we can forget about transportation and simply enjoy the experience together, moving through the picturesque medieval streets of Orvieto. ---------------Training & Tango Exploration-------------------- For this edition, we will have 15 hours of training instead of 20. This doesn’t mean less learning—it simply allows us to create a more balanced experience, with time for both intensive work and meaningful moments outside the classroom. As always, Tango Awaken is much more than practicing steps. We will continue exploring tango styles, personal preferences, movement quality, technique, musicality, and body awareness. This year, I would like to place a special focus on interpretation: understanding what feels authentic to each of us, discovering what we truly enjoy dancing, and learning how to build a tango that reflects our own personality. ------------Experiences Beyond Tango----------------- Alongside our training, we will share several activities designed to help us connect, relax, and enjoy Italy together: • Welcome aperitivo • Farewell practice • Visit to a local winery surrounded by vineyards • Wine tasting with regional wines accompanied by local cheeses and cured meats • Time to explore the town and enjoy a little Italian shopping • Visit to Orvieto Underground, the fascinating network of tunnels, caves, and hidden passages beneath the city. They say Orvieto is almost as impressive below ground as it is above it! And, of course, a few more surprises that I’ll keep secret for now. Join Me in Italy!
