Tango Baires Warwick - Spring Embrace Milonga

Juan from Tango Baires Warwick is very excited to be hosting this special Spring Embrace milonga on the 13th of May 2023. There will not only be a pre-milonga class run by Thanasis Georgopoulos & Cintia Morea but we will also enjoy a very special tango performance by Thanasis & Patti Nijhuis. Our Dj for the evening will be Juan de Scarfo who will play mainly traditional tango music and some tandas from currently trending orchestras in Argentina. 19:00-20:00 hs: pre-milonga class. We will work on how to incorporate sacadas variants in tango for both roles. 20:00- 23:30 hrs: Milonga Prices: Milonga £12 Class £10 Milonga+class £20 Discount available for students. About our guest teachers: After training as a ballet dancer, Cintia started dancing tango when she was 13 years old. She learnt and perfected this dance attending different classes and seminars by renowned tango teachers from Argentina. Since 2017 she has been teaching for the Argentine tango society at Warwick University. Thanasis had his first tango class in 2016 and immediately fell in love with the dance. He has learned tango by attending classes and seminars in the UK and all around Europe, also attending regular private classes by renowned tango teachers from Argentina and Greece. Since 2021 has been a resident teacher at Argentine Tango Society of University of Warwick. Patti and Thanasis: Also known as https://instagram.com/tango_adventures_brum_edition they are Birmingham's one and only Tango escenario duo. They have been preparing a very special routine for the London Tango Championship in June 2023 which they will premiere at the milonga for us for the very first time! There is a small car park, which holds 12 cars, to the rear of the hotel – accessible via Back Lane. The car park operates on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. If our car park is full, there is on street parking surrounding the hotel.
