In the thirty nine Tango By Year episodes from April 2020 to November 2021 we experienced a lot of variety and could approach the different periods in different ways, as we worked through the years 1926/27 to 1955, with that extra dive into 1958. The result was thirty yearly programmes, five Lost Afterparties and four specials: Troilo, Love, and two episodes to try and sum up the whole project: 'Tango By Year - By Year' . This next session will be special for us, in several ways. The idea of this 40th programme came to us in spring, talking about how to support our Ukrainian tango friends morally and financially. So this programme will be dedicated to them, and will be a fundraiser for medical and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. We both love Ukraine and have a lot of gratitude for the tango encounters we’ve had with Ukrainians, in and outside of the country. Lately, sadly, only outside the country, but we are confident that one glorious day We'll Meet Again, and dance again, in Ukraine! It will also be special because it will be a reunion. During the pandemic the two of us could relate to all of you only through the screen. Since the end of the pandemic we have met, talked and danced with many people, friends as well as strangers, who either watched the shows live or listened to the recordings afterwards (or both). It always touches us to hear what ’Tango By Year’ meant for people. As of today, the number of plays on Soundcloud is almost 40,000. Tango By Year lives on!
