Tango Café - milonga and class with Emma and Mauro

For our next Tango Café on 18th March we are very excited to have for the first time the very talented Emma Reyes and Mauro Mol. They will teach a class on "Technique and sequences for the dance floor working on and off the strong musical beat". We can't wait! --- Programme Class with Emma and Mauro (intermediate) 3-4pm, £15, including entry to the milonga. Milonga 4-8 pm, DJ Katerina, £12. ---- Food and drink The cafe is open on Saturdays until 5pm and this Saturday they are running a promotion with free coffee, tea and soft drinks! --- Travel Clapham Junction is an easy 5-minute walk away. Take the St John’s Hill exit. Lots of bus routes too, including some stopping outside the venue. If you drive, the venue is outside the congestion charge zone and outside ULEZ (but the ULEZ starts immediately north of it so take care). Parking is pay and display until 5:30 and free afterwards (or free all day if you are prepared to walk 10 mins to the adjacent parking zones - please see separate pinned post on parking with an annotated map). --- About Emma and Mauro --- Emma Lucia Reyes is a creative Londoner, Tango dance performer, teacher and artist. She is a finalist of the Argentine Tango Championships U.K and Semi Finalist in the Buenos Aires Mundiales. She has been teaching tango in London for 8 years and now performs and teaches over the UK and Europe, loving nothing more than to share her passion for tango with a particular focus on body technique, expression and communication within the couple. She has also co created her own tango shows here in South London ‘ Tango Limits’ Brixton, 2022 as well as ‘Tango in Paradise’ on board MSC preciosa, 2022 and an immersive experience ‘Do souls breathe?’ in collaboration with Bloomsbury festival 2022. --- Mauro Alejandro Mol was born in the Province of Chubut Argentina, he has trained with some of the legends of Tango, including great Masters and dancers such as Ana María and Raúl Mansilla, Ricardo Viqueira, Sebastián Achaval and Roxana Suárez, José Luis Salvo and Carla Rossi, Gabriel Angio and Natalia Games among others. The teaching style of Mauro is based on the full attention of the couple, the body energy, the ground connection, and the musicality in Tango.This style of teaching includes didactic teaching methods that help to incorporate all the new tools and knowledge in a fun and friendly way. Mauro believes that there must be a solid foundation, a connection with our partner and a connection to the ground in order to have a comfortable hug and, above all, enjoy the learning process. He has many years of experience dancing in milongas around the world, including cities like Buenos Aires, Chicago, NYC, London. He has taught Tango at Selina Tango Bariloche Argentina, he is currently a teacher at Tango Amistoso London and at Truly Tango Cambridge. He has been part of the Show Un tango en Bariloche, directed by Alejandro Escobar, Teatro La Baita tango show, directed by Ana María and Raúl Mansilla, has performed shows in Milongas such as Milonga Azul Dina Huapi, Festival de Tango 4 Estaciones San Carlos de Bariloche.
