Tango Café - milonga and class with Lia and Lio

We are delighted to host a great tango dance couple from Argentina, Lia Pereyra and Lio Espindola, on their first ever teaching visit to the UK! They came very highly recommended and we simply can't wait. More info about Lia and Lio below x --- Programme Class with Lia and Lio (intermediate) 3:00-4:00pm, £15, including entry to the milonga. The topic will be: "From the simple to the complex: ochos to chains" Milonga 4:00-8:00 pm, DJ Katerina, £12. ---- Food and drink The cafe is open on Saturdays until 5pm. There is a great choice of bars and restaurants in the immediate areas so easy to plan pre/ post drinks or meal. --- Travel Clapham Junction is an easy 5-minute walk away. Take the St John’s Hill exit. Lots of bus routes too, including some stopping outside the venue. If you drive, the venue is outside the congestion charge zone and outside ULEZ (but the ULEZ starts immediately north of it so take care). Parking is pay and display until 5:30 and free afterwards (or free all day if you are prepared to walk 10 mins to the adjacent parking zones - please see separate pinned post on parking with an annotated map). --- About Lia and Lio They have been working together for the past 6 years and bringing their passion for the dance to the most prominent milongas in Buenos Aires (Parakultural, Gente Amiga, Pipi Cucu, Floreal milonga and more), as well as in various venues throughout the country (Milonga del Arrabal, Aires de Tango, Milonga Municipal, among others). Their artistic proposal focuses on Traditional and Social Tango, a style that they are deeply passionate about and have studied and perfected over the years. They have trained with esteemed maestros such as Fernando Galera, Mario Morales, Paola Tacchetti, Corina Herrera, Natalia Games y Gabriel Angio, Nito y Elba. Additionally, they have gained invaluable experience in the realm of traditional tango under the guidance of Horacio Préstamo, Eduardo Pareja, Olga Besio, Cristina Diacono, Julio Duplaa, El nene Masci, Nelly Fernando and other renowned figures.
