Tango Café - milonga and musicality workshop with Mariano Laplume

We are delighted to welcome Mariano Laplume back to Tango Café this Saturday. He will give a tango musicality workshop on a very exciting topic "Dancing the different layers in the music". Mariano says: "Tango is a rich and complex music in terms of layers of information. In this workshop we will deconstruct the tangos, listen and dance the main melodic layer, the secondary and the base. At the end of this workshop you will be able to enrich your dance interpretation based in choosing which layer of music to dance." Most of you know Mariano - apart from being an excellent teacher he is also a successful tango musician and both skills come together beautifully in these practical musicality workshops. Note that the workshop is slightly longer than our normal weekly classes so the milonga will consequently start / end 15 mins later than usual. Prices remain the same. --- Programme Tango musicality workshop with Mariano Laplume 3:00-4:15pm, £15, including entry to the milonga. Milonga 4:15-8:15 pm, DJ Katerina, £12. ---- Food and drink The cafe is open on Saturdays until 5pm. There is a great choice of bars and restaurants in the immediate areas so easy to plan pre/ post drinks or meal. --- Travel Clapham Junction is an easy 5-minute walk away. Take the St John’s Hill exit. Lots of bus routes too, including some stopping outside the venue. If you drive, the venue is outside the congestion charge zone but inside the new, extended ULEZ.
