Tango Café - milonga and workshop with Mariano Laplume

For our next Tango Café on 20th May we are delighted to have the brilliant teacher, dancer and tango musician Mariano Laplume deliver a tango musicality workshop "Dancing bandoneon, piano and violin solos in different tango styles" This Workshop will be 100% practical. You will feel, experience and compare in movement the distinctive musical & stylistic aproaches in SOLOS by the some of the main Tango Orchestras. At the end of this workshops you will be able to identify the difference in solos expression of each orchestra and be a more creative social dancer. Please note that the workshop will be slightly longer than our usual class with the milonga starting at 4:15pm (but the price will be the same as usual). Mariano's previous workshop with us was a blast and this one sounds amazing- don't miss! And it's Alan's birthday, so we will celebrate and eat cake! --- Programme Tango musicality workshop with Mariano Laplume 3-4:15 pm, £15, including entry to the milonga. Milonga 4:15-8:15 pm, DJ Katerina, £12. ---- Food and drink The cafe is open on Saturdays until 5pm. There is a great choice of bars and restaurants in the immediate areas so easy to plan pre/ post drinks or meal. --- Travel Clapham Junction is an easy 5-minute walk away. Take the St John’s Hill exit. Lots of bus routes too, including some stopping outside the venue. If you drive, the venue is outside the congestion charge zone and outside ULEZ (but the ULEZ starts immediately north of it so take care). Parking is pay and display until 5:30 and free afterwards (or free all day if you are prepared to walk 10 mins to the adjacent parking zones - please see separate pinned post on parking with an annotated map). --- Hope the above is useful and we really look forward to welcoming you!
