About this Event

We are looking forward to welcoming you at Tango Café on 26th November for a very special afternoon of tango with the brilliant teachers and dancers Adrian and Amanda Costa. Many of you already know and love the Costas and those who don't, you are in for a real treat. Scroll down for a description of their style and tango vision. ---- Programme Class with Adrian and Amanda Costa (intermediate) 3-4pm, £15, including entry to the milonga. THE topic will be: "The essence of tango: embrace, walk and musicality" Milonga 4-8pm, DJ Katerina, £12. Adrian and Amanda performance around 6pm ---- About Adrian and Amanda Adrian and Amanda have become one of the most influential and admired performers and teachers of the Authentic Salon Tango, in the Villa Urquiza style. Adrian and Amanda successfully combine the true heritage and fundamentals of social tango with their more modern vision. Mutual respect for everyone sharing the dance floor, integrating emotion and interpretation of the music, and a natural elegance rooted in posture and beautiful walking are hallmarks of their vision. In their very personal approach to tango they emphasize the embrace and elegance. They are of the opinion that the poetry of tango stems from suspension. Excellent teachers and philosophers of tango, each class with them is a veritable feast for the body and soul. They are invited as maestros all over the world: France, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Poland, Danemark, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Portugal, United States, Cosa Rica, Rusia, China, Taiwan, Korea, Brunei, Indonesia, Tunisia, Morroco … Photo credit: Gwenael Geneau ---- Food and drink The cafe is open on Saturdays until 5pm and you can buy food and (non-alcoholic) drinks. We will provide water for the duration. We are keen on reducing waste so would really appreciate if you can bring your own water bottle, which can be refilled at the venue (we have single use cups too but hoping not to use many). If you are after a pre or post milonga meal, you will be spoiled for choice with a fine selection of bars and restaurants on both Battersea Rise and Northcote Road. --- Travel Clapham Junction is an easy 5-minute walk away. Take the St John’s Hill exit. Lots of bus routes too, including some stopping outside the venue. If you drive, the venue is outside the congestion charge zone and outside ULEZ (but the ULEZ starts immediately north of it so take care). Parking is pay and display until 5:30 and free afterwards (or free all day if you are prepared to walk 10 mins to the adjacent parking zones - please see separate pinned post on parking with an annotated map). Hope the above is useful and we really look forward to welcoming you! Alan and Katerina
