José Garófalo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Artist, choreographer, performer, teacher of Argentine Tango. Since the beginning of the 80's he has been working on the interweaving of languages: arts, dance, theater and performance are some of his tools to delve into popular narrative or poetics, which is part of his research in the field multidisciplinary and plural of contemporary art. In 1987 he entered the tango ballet at the University of Buenos Aires. He formed with milongueros such as Mayoral and Elsa María, Miguel Balmaceda and Nelly, Pupi Castello, Tete Rusconi and María Villalobos, Carlos Gavito, Gustavo Naveira, Rodolfo Dinzel. He has been president of the Cambalache Civil Association since 2007. He has directed the Cambalache Festival since 2004. Tango teacher at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires since 1998.He has directed the Compañía Tragicómica Tanguera since 2011.
