Tango Lab Seminars with Oa and Winston

I am very excited to announce a new project in London: this autumn, I will be teaching two extensive tango seminars in collaboration with Winston at Amistoso. Finally coming back to teaching regularly in London! The seminars will be held in a lab format, which is much more than a regular tango class. The idea is to create a space where we can study, experiment, ask questions and investigate tango together over a number of weeks, rather than simply learning material in individual classes. Every Tuesday, the evening will run like this: 7:30–8:00pm — Guided Practice A space to warm up, bring your own tango questions, experiment, and receive focused individual feedback. 8:00–9:30pm — Seminar The main 1.5-hour seminar, where we will explore the week's subject in depth. 9:30–10:00pm — Guided Practica Time to practise, explore and develop what we have worked on during the seminar. This gives us a full 2.5 hours every Tuesday dedicated to study, exploration and dancing. While tango brings a lot of individual work for each dancer, we will also explore what teamwork can do. You will be welcome to bring suggestions and questions for the guided practice, share your findings with others, and we will look for answers together. This will be a unique opportunity to go expansively into tango for those who are keen on discovering the depth and richness of tango beyond steps. SEMINAR 1 LOOKING FOR TIERRA What does grounding do? How do we use it? And how can it help us push beyond the superficial in tango? Exploring tierra, grounding and a different way of dancing. Every Tuesday for 7 weeks 1 September – 13 October SEMINAR 2 MUSICALITY AND HUMANITY What does it mean to find yourself in the dance, and to share with your partner? Exploring the emotion and the drive, and how musicality becomes something deeply human between two people. Every Tuesday for 5 weeks 17 November – 15 December You can join either seminar as a full series, follow both seminars for the complete journey, or come to individual Tuesdays as a drop-in.
