Tango Live Orchestra Dance Workshop + Milonga

After last summer’s roaring success, the Bristol Community Tango Orchestra is inviting you to the second edition of an exciting Sunday afternoon tango experience celebrating orchestral tango music in all its facets through dance and live music performance! ****Sunday 5th July 2026**** **3-4pm Live Music Musicality Workshop** Supported by the players of the orchestra, visiting tango teacher Caroline Mathias will be unpicking much-loved traditional tango pieces for you in a completely unique way. A rare opportunity to experience her wonderful way of teaching tango supported by live music. **4-8pm Live music Milonga** 4 hours of dancing with live music played by the Bristol Community Tango Orchestra and carefully selected tandas including classical recordings from the 20th centuray and wonderful modern interpretations, from DJ Caroline Mathias. Founded in September 2024 as part of the Creative Caminito project (initiated by the lead violinist of the London Tango Orchestra Caroline Pearsall), the Bristol Community Tango Orchestra is currently the only of its kind in the area. No less than 16 players with Cristina Benezet on vocals have been working together on a predominantly traditional repertoire on a monthly basis led by Tango Calor's bandeonist Mirek Salmon and Bristol-based violinist Carola Hengstenberg. **Venue** Kingswood Community Association, High St, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 4AB.
