We're cranking up the juice as Tango Mio gets electric with The DJ Formerly Known as Richard Cepeda. At 9PM, get supercharged when TDJFNARC the switch to High Voltage and lays down electifying tandas from the golden age! The music won't be the only thing that's electric. Hailing from the Electric Lodge, Makela Tango will be teaching the pre-milonga series at 8PM. Get ready to kickstart your tango with a jolt of excellence! Makela, our guest instructor for the month of March, is a well respected teacher in the LA area. Since 1995 she has taught, danced, performed, and choreographed tango around Argentina, Mexico and the U.S.A. Known for her outstanding technique and grace, Makela stresses that tango comes from the heart as well as the body. For ladies, she focuses on what makes a woman dance more beautifully and easily. For men, she concentrates on what makes a man a confident and clear leader so that women will love to dance with him. Her classes start at 8PM. Pre-milonga Class 8 pm-9 pm Milonga 9 pm to 1 am First time class attendees - only $5 Class & Milonga $12 before 10 pm $15 after 10 pm $10 for full time students with ID. No Outside Food or Drink! CASH ONLY PLEASE. Reservations taken until MONDAY NIGHT – pm Natasha please with exact number of seats required. Seats reserved until 10:30 pm only. Please be considerate of other dancers and space. And we ask that you dance with your eyes open to prevent injury to others. :) NO teaching/soliciting at the milonga whatsoever.
