JULY/AUGUST TANGO EVENTS WITH EDUARDO FONSECA, CARLA CAMPOPIANO, DAMIAN RIVERO, ALBA GUERRA & YUYO VERDE - CARLA CAMPOPIANO, a flute player and leader of the Chicago based tango band YUYO VERDE, is bringing from Buenos Aires to Chicago EDUARDO FONSECA, a music professor and guitar performer, specialized in Argentine tango. He is also the artistic director of the tango ensemble De Queruza Tango Club. Carla and Eduardo, together with Yuyo Verde, Damian Rivero and Alba Guerra, will offer different tango events in the months of July and August 2015. Concerts and milongas are addressed to tango dancers and anybody interested in tango music and/or dance. Music workshops will be addressed to musicians who may want to take the opportunity of being introduced to Argentine tango music by a music professor from BA, who will talk and show the peculiarities of tango, unveiling it, showing its real local character (any level, any instrument). All these events were organized by Carla Campopiano. JULY 17 - CONCERT - 8:30pm to 12am - SABOR A CAFÉ (Colombian restaurant at 2435 W Peterson Ave, Chicago, IL 60659) - Eduardo Fonseca, Carla Campopiano, Gustavo Cortiñias (guest musician) and Damian Rivero (Argentinean singer). - You have to make reservations with the restaurant. It gets packed every Friday. JULY 22 - MUSIC WORKSHOP FOR MUSICIANS - 5 to 7pm - SABOR A CAFÉ - Eduardo Fonseca & Carla Campopiano - This workshop will be an Introduction to Argentine Tango Music with the possibility of practice in a casual ensemble. All levels and any kind of instrument are welcome. PRICE: $15. The restaurant will not charge any cover to the students because the owner is a friend of Carla, but of course any food or drink order will be appreciated. JULY 23, 24, 25 - MUSIC WORKSHOPS FOR MUSICIANS - TANGO, NO MORE MYSTERY - 10am to 2:45pm - TERRA SOUNDS SCHOOL OF MUSIC & ARTS - 924 N. Waukegan Rd, Glenview, IL - Eduardo Fonseca & Carla Campopiano. PRICE: $200 for the 3 days (15 hours) a few scholarships available - These workshops were designed to give musicians a foundation on tango music theory, train their ears and analytical skills to recognize the basic rhythm patterns of tango and provide clear examples to be practiced in casual ensembles. Any level and any instrument are welcome. JULY 31 - CONCERT & MILONGA - 8:30pm to 12am - Red Line Tap - 7006 N Glenwood Ave, Chicago, IL - Eduardo Fonseca, Carla Campopiano and Alba Guerra (Argentine singer) - The first set of the Concert starts at 8:30pm and goes to 9:15. Alba Guerra will sing at this first set only. In the 2nd set, starting around 9:30pm (45 minutes), Eduardo Fonseca and Yuyo Verde will play only instrumental music for dancers. Between sets and after the second set, tango recorded music will be played for the dancers. PRICE: $7 at the door. Food and drinks available for purchase. AUGUST 1 - CONCERT & MORE - 8pm to 10pm - El Agijon Theater - 2707 N Laramie Ave, Chicago, IL - Concert: 8 to 10pm. A Milonga Party may be organized after the concert, from 10pm to after midnight - Eduardo Fonseca, Yuyo Verde, Gustavo Cortiñias and Alba Guerra. More information on this event coming soon. ABOUT EDUARDO FONSECA - Professor of Basic Music Education I and II at Escuela de Arte Pipo Ferrari, Guitar Professor of Music Language I and II at Oniria Musical Multispace Luján, Guitar player and director of the music ensemble at Carhué Partido de Adolfo Alsina. All these schools are in Buenos Aires. Guitar Player, Director and arranger of the ensemble De Queruza Tango Club, Guitar player and arranger at the ensemble Vieytes Tango. Played in many concerts and milongas in Buenos Aires and Italy with his different ensembles. ABOUT CARLA CAMPOPIANO - Flute player from Argentina, leader and arranger of Yuyo Verde, a tango band based in Chicago.
