About this Event
The tango is rich with expressive movements, two of which are the boleos and adornos.
Boleos are sharp, fast kicks or flicks of the legs. They occur when the leg is extended and then quickly released, often in sync with the music's rhythm. Boleos can vary in height and direction, adding flair and drama to the dance as they create beautiful lines and shapes.
Adornos, on the other hand, are embellishments or decorative movements that dancers incorporate into their steps. These can include footwork variations, posture changes, or upper-body movements, allowing both partners to showcase their individuality and style. Adornos often enhance the emotional expression of the dance, making it visually captivating. Together, boleos and adornos contribute to the dynamic and improvisational essence of tango.
