About this Event

Mark your calendars for the first ever Vancouver Touch&Play event led by Moti Zemelman: TANTRA CONTACT FUSION: Creating deep intimacy in our dances WHEN: NOVEMBER 3-5 Friday night 6-10pm Saturday 10am - 5pm Plus a blindfold jam 7-10pm Sunday 10am - 5pm WHERE: The Dharmalab Community Centre 1814 Pandora Street, Second Floor, Vancouver OPEN TO ALL LEVELS (Some basic experience with Contact Improv is highly recommended to participate) Even though Contact Improv is a dance form that offers more intimacy than any other dance form I know of, there are so many ways that we can continue to deepen in these states. Often this vulnerability and intimacy is avoided out of fears and habits to keep us safe. Finding your own safe edge we'll explore the balance of control and surrender. In a safe container, incorporating stillnesses, slow-motion, eye-contact, energetic awareness, and more - we'll explore being more deeply present with our partners. The event will begin with a consent workshop on Friday Evening required for all participating: ConSensual: Contact Improv & The Art of Consent At the core of CI is the constant dance of consent. In this workshop we will be practicing this dance of saying and hearing “No” & “Yes” both verbally and non-verbally. This act of trust brings us into deeper intimacy when we hold ourselves and partners with respect. This listening practice guides our dances toward greater empathy and presence. By incorporating Non-Violent Communication, Tantra-inspired exercises, stillness, eye-contact, and energetic awareness, we'll explore being more deeply sensual, consensual, and present with each other. The weekend event will include a BLINDFOLD JAM Saturday 7-10pm only available to those attending the weekend workshop: COST (sliding scale): Early Bird Special - Before September 30 the fee is $170 with a sliding scale for students and others in need. After Sep 30 the fee is $200 with a sliding scale for students and others in need. To register please send a payment via paypal or etransfer (if within Canada) to [email protected].
