About this Event
Tarraxo Toolbox: CrossStep Masterclass · August 23
The cross step has three types. Each one runs on the same three-phase structure. This masterclass breaks all of it down — one concept, fully analysed, in a single session.
---
The framework: Creating Space → Crossing → Resolving
This sequence applies to every cross step, regardless of type. The session uses it as the analytical backbone for everything covered.
---
Back Cross
How the leader creates space behind the follower. The difference between signalling space and directing movement. The mechanics of the follower's entry and timing. How the cross closes — Resolving as a structural endpoint, not a transition out.
Front Cross
Same three-phase structure, different spatial axis. The mechanical differences between back and front cross. How the preparation reads from both roles before the step happens.
Circle Cross
Space built through arc rather than line. How the circular path changes the mechanics of all three phases. Full breakdown.
Integration
All three types in a real dance context. How to connect them and how to choose between them.
---
Format: 3 hours. One concept. This is the Toolbox format — the goal is to understand the mechanics behind what you're already doing, not just add more steps to the repertoire.
Who it's for: dancers who have cross steps in their vocabulary and want to understand the structure behind them. Open to all levels. Connection fundamentals are useful but not required.
August 23 is also Fayyaz's birthday. Social after the session.
