Well it's finally happening and we are so pumped Mike Ahombi is a Congolese-born, Canada-based international dance artist whose movement is rooted in the streets of Kinshasa and refined on the global stage. Dancing since the age of five, he grew up immersed in Ndombolo, Afro, Ghetto Zouk, and Hip Hop before relocating to North America in 2014, where he discovered Kizomba and never looked back. Since settling in Canada in 2019, Mike has become known for his deep exploration of Tarraxo and his distinctive perspective on the relationship between performance and social dance. His signature style is defined by exceptional musicality, intentional movement, and a teaching approach that is as transformative as it is technical. Through his unique workshop settings, Mike creates immersive learning experiences that challenge dancers to connect more deeply with the music, their partners, and themselves. A sought-after guest at festivals and congresses worldwide, Mike Ahombi continues to push the evolution of Afro partner dance while honoring its cultural roots.
