Six year of operating in the underground scene have turned us into a plump cocoon. Evolution took its course and we are now a radiant and hungry butterfly. During last year, our cocoon year, the traditional Independence Day Shakzuka festival did not take place, we decided with a choked throat and quivering mouth to end the tradition and start a new one. We took a whole year to think and fantasize of how to create a new type of celebration, one that would bring the same wind of change that we have gone through; in other words, how to express our growth and desire for a more communal, more open, more free, longer and wider festival, that will be able to contain everything we love and are curious about. We would like to thank the book called “T.A.Z.” by Hakim Bey, an anarchistic post-modern philosopher who speaks to our heart. More about him later ♥. The tickets will be available until Saturday, September 2 (while stocks last). The T.A.Z. celebration will be brought to a close on Saturday, September 2 at 4:00 PM. ★Welcome Center★ Located at the entrance to the Ashram, this is the place to exhibit your tickets and get your bracelets. You can also get your keys to the guestrooms here. ★Info★ The Info is located across the entrance to the dining room, near the office area. This is the place to get a program with a map and the festival’s schedule. ★Parking★ There is plenty of free parking available. We only ask that you abide by the instructions of the usher – a vehicle which will not park according to the instructions will be towed. The walking distance from the parking lot to the festival area is 2 minutes. ★What to Bring★ The Ashram is hot in daytime and cold at night – bring both short and long-sleeve clothes. You can bring something to sit or lie on at the workshops, such as a Yoga mattress or a shawl. Musical instruments, gifts for yourself and others, an open heart. We ask not to bring dogs or camping burners! ★How to get there★ In Wayze app, set the destination for “Desert Ashram, Shitim”. You can arrive in your own car, or join our carpool list – link is coming soon. ★Tickets★ When you arrive to the festival, you will be directed towards the Welcome center, where you will exchange the confirmation of the ticket purchase that you received in your e-mail to a bracelet, with which you can freely come in and out of the festival. Please bring a passport or I.D., and make sure you have the ticket purchase e-mail ready in your phone. Recommended: in case of wi-fi reception problems, we recommend that you print out your ticket confirmation e-mail, or save a copy in your phone, in order to speed up your registration process. ★Accommodation★ Guestrooms for rent: by booking in advance only. Camping: you can set up your tent in our camping sites. It is highly recommended to bring camping gear – tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, floor mats, a flashlight, and hammocks. ★Showers★ We have showers with hot water, and toilets just like at home. There’s also a special treat – water pools for cooling off whenever you feel like. Bringing a bathing suit is therefore recommended. ★Money★ We recommend that you bring enough cash, which can then be exchanged into Ashram money. Every purchase inside the festival can be made with Ashram money only. ★Food★ There will be a wide variety of healthy vegan food at T.A.Z. celebrations, Such as: casseroles, pizza, salads, sweets, etc. All the love and above, T.A.Z ♫ Everything all the time :)
