Texas Zoukers to Igor Fraga's Zouk Intensives!!!

Inspired Movement is excited to announce that DJ/Zouker, Igor Fraga, will be coming to Austin to teach a comprehensive and all levels friendly Zouk course for THREE WEEKENDS IN A ROW all Sundays! ------------------------------- Info: Rio-style zouk originated in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. It has increased in popularity around the globe in places such as Europe, Asia, Australia, and is finally finding a home here in North America. Rio zouk is a compilation of distinctive body movements such as the arching of the back (aka cambré), and specific head and hair movements. Today, Brazilian zouk is danced to an eclectic range of music such as Latin pop, kizomba, and many other music styles mixed with a zouk beat. Get ready to be spoiled for three whole weeks as Igor comes to Austin to teach an intensive series of classes including 20+ hours of Zouk amazingness for all to enjoy!!! -------------------------------- Course Breakdown: Sunday, July 19th, 2-7pm Workshop Beginner: Basics This workshop will be focused on the basic patterns in Zouk dancing to provide the grounds to execute any move. In learning connection, students will gain a general understanding of how the dance works allowing them to go out onto the dance floor and ask anyone to dance. During the musicality exercises, you will be encouraged to experiment with the dance, and bring out the creativeness within you. Sunday, July 26th, 2-7pm Workshop Beginner/Intermediate: Moves In this workshop we’ll be putting in practice all of the basic patterns in many different moves. You’ll have a deeper understanding of the patterns, and how it all fits together in a social dance. We’ll focus on the Mechanics, fluidity, and smoothness while performing all of the moves. You’ll also be working on some different styles of Zouk to learn how to differentiate the main styles and how to use each one of them on the dance floor. Sunday, August 2nd, 2-7pm Workshop Intermediate: Combinations For our last workshop we’ll bring together all of the knowledge of the dance we’ve acquired so far. You’ll learn how to fit together different moves and make smooth transitions between them. You are encouraged to improvize and bring out your own ideas and style of the dance. The focus of the class will be Powerful Moves, Combinations, Improvisation, and Playfulness. Tickets: All three classes may be purchased in advance at a discounted price of $150.
