Thailand Contact Improvisation Conference 2021 10-25 August The conference is designed for artistic exchange and intense practice. It is a meeting point for those who are practicing Contact Improvisation(CI) in Thailand It aims to support the development of the international CI community; encouraging dialog and artistic exchange, emphasising the practice of improvisation and its performative aspect. To reshape and deepen shared understanding of Contact Improvisation by considering its history, philosophy and ongoing development, since its inception in 1972 to today. Captured in its primary source - «Contact Quarterly» Journal. To connect Thai and International contact improvisation and contemporary dance communities. For this third edition, there will be three themes in focus: 1. Dancing life - acknowledging CI as a transformative practice for everyday life and model for social change. 2. Safety & Improvisation - awakening the body intelligence and expanded awareness. 3. CI & Arts - creative explorations including poetry, painting, performing, dancing in nature and film making. The program: 10-12 august - 3 days of CI essentials for beginners 15-25 august - CI conference The 16 day program will mainly consist of classes, focus jams, facilitated laboratories, lectures and improv performances. It will also include sharing circles, bodywork sessions, movement practices in nature and CI - film screenings. Price: Donation based.
