It is also one of the hardest to master. This class will focus on creating a more comfortable and dynamic embrace. Using a variety of exercises and tools we will help students train and create a more comfortable/expressive embrace for themselves and their partners. 2:45pm-4:00pm "Following the follow. Leading the lead.” (All Levels) If we were to make a venn diagram consisting of the “lead” and the “follow” this class is where they would overlap. Using some simple tools from the Salon dancer playbook we will begin to track lead/follow energies while creating more agency within each role. 7:30pm workshop with Grisha at Birmingham Tango "Different Styles of Milonga (Milonga as Happy Dance)" (All Levels) 9:00-2am Birmingham Tango's Late Night Saturday Milonga w/Live Guitar & DJ Grisha and performances - Sunday afternoon 1 workshop w/Grisha at Birmingham Tango 2pm-3:30pm "Contrapunto Tango. (Concept, Movements)" (All Levels) Sunday afternoon 2 workshops w/Alberto & Micaela at City Style Tango 4:00-5:15pm "Moving the mountain. Strength/power through Grounding.” (All Levels) Finding strength and power through movement is one of the core aspirations of any dancer. Over the course of this seminar we will provide tips, tricks, and exercises to bump your game to the next level. 5:30-7pm Interpreting Biagi! (Intermediate-Advanced) A Biagi tanda is serious business. Unique rhythms. Uncommon elements. It's a musical mountain to summit. We will explore the elements that make his compositions unique as well as work strongly with interpretation. Through this class we aspire to help students sharpen their tango salon, while increasing musicality and vocabulary.
