That's My Jam! - We Got Rhythm

*** Finally we are back with That’s My Jam <3 *** To stay flexible we will keep the sign-up periods to two weeks right now, but hopefully soon we will be able to also offer longer courses again. For the first two weeks we could get François Perdriau as teacher. You might have seen him in action, playing the drums in several popular Swing & Hot Jazz bands in Berlin, such us The Jungle Jazz Band, The Big Five and his newest project, The Syncopation Society Orchestra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNfArmkSYFc Since his area of expertise is Rhythm, that’s what we will be working on for the first two weeks. Different popular Rhythms in Early Jazz & Swing Music, how to be rhythmically together as a rhythm section, how to listen, communicate and get inspired by the rest of the band :) More details are going to be sent out to participants: *** What you should know before you join this course *** The main prerequisite you need is the willingness to practice! Other than that we try to prepare the content in a way that makes it easy to join on any level. Some basic skills on your instrument are of advantage, but if you are willing to dive in at the deep end, you can learn the instrument on the way ;) Speaking of instrument: If you don’t have your own instrument, get in touch with us and we can see how we can help :) Also of course we are going to pay close attention to follow the hygienic concept to minimze risk of exposure. The classes are going to happen in the big room that is well ventilated and we are going to limit participants to make sure we can keep enough distance from each other and take wind instruments into account.
