Inspired by the theme ‘A Call for Unity’, the 2018 Afro-Latin Fest will be the host of 3 anniversaries: the Afro-Latin Fest’s 5th, Jorge Orta y su Tumbaká 10th, and Strictly Street Salsa 20th. FRIDAY, July 27 | 8:30 PM – 2 AM · Inaugural ‘Concert Series’ – two concerts celebrating music of the United States and Cuba, featuring music legends Bobby Lyle, Diunna Greenleaf, Jewel Brown and Tweed Smith (a special recognition will be presented to these artists). Los Hijos del Son will be on stage with exceptional Cuban music to make you dance. Also this evening, Part I of Strictly Street Salsa’s 20th Anniversary Celebration (20 years short video), and founder Raul Orlando Edwards’ 50th birthday. After concert party with DJ Franky SATURDAY, July 28 | Workshops (10 AM – 6 PM) | Evening Show (8:30 PM – 2 AM) · Over 12 dance and percussion workshops for all levels · Evening show hosted by José Griñan (FOX 26), the ‘Big Show’ features performances by Yeni Molinet, María Fernanda Urbaez and DANMAR, Strictly Street Salsa, Reinaldo Costa, Raul Orlando Edwards, and others. The ‘Concert Series’ continues with the dynamic and high energy music of Manolo Mairena, followed by the concert celebration of Jorge Orta y su Tumbaká 10th Anniversary!
