Through ensemble physical theatre, choreography, masks, spectacular costumes, live music and Samba percussion ‘The Beautiful Game' is an unforgettable immersive drama, exciting for all. Led by Mark Duncan, artistic director of Cornucopian Theatre Company with musical director Xi-Mali Kadeena-Guscoth maestre of Pumpkin Jigsaw Samba band. The football pitch is the theatre, the theatre is the football pitch! Get involved in the action with different national teams, ancient Chinese football players, Mayan warriors, famous philosophers, Brazilians on a Rio beach, soldiers in World War I and the best games from world cup history. About Pumpkin Jigsaw: A Tottenham based group bringing carnival samba into a contemporary London performance environment using the innate community-building and collaborative nature of samba. Pumpkin Jigsaw has created collaborative performances within theatre (The Royal Court Theatre, Cornucopia Theatre Company), dance (The Artful Badgers) and fusion music (SOAS Ceilidh Band).
