Sambroso Sambroso presents: *THE CUBAN JAM* Free before 8pm / £5 after 8pm On Fridays, Havana’s nightlife comes to The Forge, Camden. Come and party with London’s Cuban community and their friends, try your hand (or feet) at salsa or enjoy live music from the city’s best Cuban musicians (and others that have flown in to play). Every week a different group of musicians get together on stage, keeping the music authentic yet with spice and variety. You can also enjoy the latin beats by our resident DJ Javier La Maquina De Cuba, before and after the live band. 7pm to 8pm: Salsa Lesson with Mina Queen Salsa 8pm: DJ Johnny Gee will be dishing out the hottest Cuban & Latin tunes. 9:30 pm to 10:15 pm 11:00 pm to 11:45 pm The Bugalu Foundation play a style of music influenced by Latin legends such as Ray Barretto, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri. Their sound is particularly evocative of the 70’s era of ‘Our Latin Thing’, when the musical traditions of New York’s east and west Harlem come together in an irresistible fusion of Jazz, Funk and Soul mixed with the Hispanic beats of ’El Barrio’. This nine/ten piece powerhouse, which features the remarkable Vocal talent of Martin Connor, has more than a hint of Palmieri’s ‘La Perfecta’, a good dose of the guitar fuelled Afro-Latin style of Joe Battaan and has a simple aim ; To move body and soul!
