🌏 THE GLOBAL UNDERSCORE – Dancing Together Across the Globe 🌍 We’re thrilled to announce that Sydney is officially registered to participate in this year’s Global Underscore, joining dancers around the world in this simultaneous practice. 📅 WHEN: Saturday 22nd – Sunday 23rd June ⏰ TIME: 11:00 PM – 2:00 AM 📍 WHERE: Annandale Creative Arts Centre (ACAC) 💰 COST: $10-15 (cost of the space divided between participants) Please note: As this practice takes place at an unusual hour, we ask all participants to be especially mindful of the nearby residents at ACAC. Let’s keep the magic respectful. New to the Underscore? Please arrive on time at 11:00 PM sharp for a clear and thorough introduction to the score. The structure is important and arriving late may mean missing key orientation. New to Contact Improvisation? We recommend attending a few jams or classes before participating in the Underscore. The practice requires some familiarity with CI principles. What is the Underscore? Created by Nancy Stark Smith, the Underscore is a structured improvisational score for Contact Improvisation. It moves through a series of distinct phases, each represented by a symbol, encouraging deep listening, playful exploration, and collective awareness.
