The Grand Slam Sextet at Old Towne Swing!

We always have a band to follow up Camp Hollywood weekend, but this year Old Towne Swing was provided the opportunity to fully bookend the event. With a band like The Grand Slam Sextet as the act, it was hard to consider passing up the chance. Bandleader Jonathan Stout's lineup of The Grand Slam Sextet strongly echoes the Benny Goodman Sextet lineups that featured Charlie Christian on guitar and Lionel Hampton on vibraphone. In short, you're going to get wonderfully textured, in-the-pocket music that is well suited to any style of Swing dancing-and beside that, it's fantastic listening music. We're also going to have guest instructors Blake Thiessen and Grace Babbes out to teach the all levels Lindy Hop class at 7:45 pm, along with guest DJ Andry Rakotomala! Come, dance with us!
