Join us for a very special end-of-summer afternoon milonga in beautiful Farkas Hall! Saturday, August 9 1:30-2pm: check-in & warm-up 2-3:30pm: workshop on milonga traspié w/Thomas Patrick 3:30-7:30pm: social dancing workshop topic: "In this class, you'll learn to dance milonga traspié as it is danced socially in the milongas of Buenos Aires today. We'll play with rhythmic patterns and combinations to enhance your musical interpretation of milongas by Biagi, D'Arienzo, and Tanturi. The class will be taught by Thomas Patrick, a musician with many years of teaching tango and dancing in Argentina." All levels (int/adv). $25 milonga workshop ($20 for students) $20 milonga admission ($15 for students) $40 workshop + milonga ($35 for students) We accept cash or Venmo @HarvardTango. For this special occasion, we are delighted to welcome you back to our beautiful venue: 203 Farkas Hall. We'll be waiting for you there with delicious light refreshments, air conditioning, warm summer light streaming through the high windows, the best dance music in the tango repertoire, and a striking rehearsal room with a gorgeous hardwood floor in one of the university's most beautiful buildings. Directions: 12 Holyoke St in Cambridge, just a block from the Harvard Square T stop. Go up the stairs, walk into the main entrance and up another flight of stairs, where you'll find room 203.
