The Lamplighters Live @ Monday Night Swing!

This week we are bringing back San Antonio based jazz band, The Lamplighters! The Lamplighters bring big band energy & musical aesthetics from the vintage eras of the 1930s on up! Come for a full night with dance lessons and social dancing, or just to sit back and enjoy the phenomenal live music performance. Potluck night, bring your favorite treats to share! Come join us each Monday night at the Firefighters Banquet Hall. Each week will start with classes that brush up and build on as the month proceeds. Please arrive early, classes will begin promptly at 7pm. *Student discounts every week with ID! 🕺 April Dance Classes East Coast 1 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Jonathan & Emma 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This 6-count dance is where it all starts! This class is available every Monday night. East Coast 1 is perfect if you are new to swing dancing and want to begin your dance journey. This class will cover the main fundamentals of swing dancing such as basic posture, pulsing, weight transferring & core engagement. Lindyhop 1.5 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Gilbert & Ale 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Continue building your fundamentals of this 8-count dance, in preparation for more advanced moves and the famous swing-out! Lindy can be danced to slow or fast music, often blending several styles including 6-count and Charleston. Charleston 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫: Torrey & Sheri 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Get your kicks with this fast paced variation! Originally a solo dance, can be added to partnered dance east coast swing and lindyhop! Ideal for fast songs and upbeat tempos, learn how to put it all together in class. NOTE: While these classes are available each week, please know that it takes personal commitment to improve your dancing. This may include self-practice, group practices, or private lessons with instructors. Growth requires pushing your limits & testing your potential. Dance is no exception to this rule. The parking lot is directly outside of the building on the left side. There is also additional parking on the right side. 🍺 𝐁.𝐘.𝐎.𝐁. We have been given permission from the SA Firefighters Association to allow our guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Water bottles & sodas will remain for sale. NOTE: We have the right to deny entry or to escort guests out of the premises if we feel they are above the legal intoxication limit, are disturbing the peace, or are attempting to serve alcohol to minors. Keep in mind that this is an all-ages event and while we allow adults to bring their own beverages we must remind everyone to be responsible and follow the law.
