A two hours workshop leading you through a Salsa music and dance journey that will transform your mind and body for the rest of your life. You will discover the influence of the African Assymmetrical time and Syncopation in “Afro music” in general and modern Salsa music in particular. You will understand the notions of Salsa dancing “On1” (referring to the style developed in Los Angeles “LA” where accent is on the first beat of the eight count) and Salsa dancing “On 2” (also known as New York Style, where the accent is on the second beat of the music). You will also recognize the driving instruments to guide your dancing through a Salsa song. By the end of the workshop you will be able to dance happily and most importantly you will be prepared to become a successful social salsa dancer. His dedication to “Bridging cultures” under AsiAfrica Foundation, earned him an international Award by the Government of Benin and a strong recognition by African Embassies in Asia. Dr. Roland formerly known as “Dr. Salsa” is a Benin (West Africa) / French national based in Thailand since 2002 and a pioneer and inspiring leader in many ways. Roland defines himself as a “story-teller” with Afro-Latin music and dances. He has managed to combine his professional activities as international Lawyer and University lecturer around Asia with teaching and promoting Afro-Latin, African and Cuban music, dances and culture to bridge cultures between Asia and Africa for fundraising.
