The Prince of Salsa Andy Cruz is coming to Madison for a full of fun workshops and even a special performance at The Cardinal Bar Thursday November 29st. Not only will we have Andy here as a guest for the thursday but we will also get the treat of having his partner Cristina Rodriguez, former Italian Salsa Champion, here as well... ALSO DANDOMAMBO WILL PERFORMANCE THE NEW ROUTINES~~ Andy “Lyrik” Cruz BKA THE PRINCE OF SALSA , of Puerto Rican descent, has many talents. Songwriter, poet, dancer, instructor, and choreographer. This talented hip-hop, jazz, and Latin dancer has taken the dance world by storm having a positive impact on all those he comes across including the many youth dance companies he’s involved in. Born and raised in the heart of Humboldt Park, Puerto Rican barrio of Chicago, Andy started his first dance company when he was only 17 years old. Los Jovenes del Swing Dance Company is now a non-profit youth dance organization that serves the children of Humboldt Park, and has become an international touring company making appearances throughout the US, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Dance has always been a passion for Andy; a positive outlet for releasing his frustrations and fears. Andy has become an international performer and instructor performing and teaching in places such as the US, Europe, and Asia. In 2005, Andy released his very first instructional DVD titled, “Mambo Hip-Hop” in London in 2005 and is also featured in the “Salsa With The Stars” DVD produced by Salsa Is Good in AUSTRALIA. As a talented choreographer, Andy has performed with world renowned Salsa Divas such as Duplessey-Monic Walker, Yesenia Peralta, Jorjet Alcocer, Lori Ana Perez, Julissa Cruz, The Mambo Diva Griselle Ponce, The Lady of Soul Kimberly Rivera, World Class Stylist Candy Mena and will now be seen burning the stages worlwide alongside his new dance partner Puerto Rican Diva and Former Italian Champion CRISTINA RODRIGUEZ. Andy is also the Producer/ Official Choreographer of the BURJU SHOES RUNWAY SHOWS. Andy says we should all laugh as much as possible; after all it is free, and that we should live life to its fullest. Life is about good and bad experiences, and it’s what you decide to do with it which defines you. Andy and Cristina will be guest instructing Daniel Balderas' Friday night Salsa/Bachata party lesson November 30th at Studio-Lounge in Bay View.
