BIGGEST NEWS EVER! ( Well we are a bit biased.) The Subway Soul Club is back after a 2 year break. After a couple of venues fell through, we are FINALLY back on the dancefloor. ​Join Phast Phreddie The Boogaloo Omnibus and guest DJs to dance the night away to 1960s soul music, Motown, Northern Soul and Go-Go-Grooves on vintage vinyl with a backdrop of groovy 1960s projections. Lady Dawn, as always, will be her hostessy mostest. We're excited to be holding this event at Gemini & Scoprio's awesome, 'secret' loft in the new, hipster hood of Gowans, Brooklyn. We've been holding out for a great space and we love this place with it's renovated, wooden dance floor, excellent sound system, comfy lounge seating and affordable drinks. We're even more excited to announce that our guest DJs will be DJ Honky and Connie T Empress. Honky was one of the two men responsible for the fabulous Dig Deeper series of Soul Music extravaganzas from a few years back. Dig Deeper featured some of our favorite Soul singers, including Don Gardner, Syl Johnson, Otis Clay, Sugar Pie DeSanto and Barbara Lynn. Honky owns some of the most fabulous (and fabulously rare) soul records in the world and he is not afraid to play them when he DJs. Connie T Empress--known far and wide as the Empress of Soul--is the tiara-wearing DJ who helped usher in Sixties Soul music dancing in New York City with the Empire State Soul Club back in the eighties. She's got the goods to make you dance! This is going to be great. As we said, it is a secret location.
