The couple must be a male and a female and will compete in a choreographed routine. The duration of the routine must be between 1:50 and 2:30 minutes where 80% of the performance must be Salsa. The choreography must maintain a consistency in the timing, if the choreography starts on 1 style, must continue on 1 and if the choreography starts on 2 or Cuban style must continue on 2 style or Cuban style. A competitor cannot freeze for more than 8 continuous counts.
Lifts/Aerials: A total number of 3 lifts is allowed. If for any reason more than 3 lifts are performed there will be a 10% penalty from the final score of the competitors.
Tricks: A total number of 3 tricks is allowed. If for any reason more than 3 tricks are performed there will be a 10% penalty from the final score of the competitors.
Continuous turns: Maximum number of turns permitted is 4 counts of 8 beats. If the competitors exceed this number, they will have 10% penalty from their final score.
πΊπ BACHATA COUPLE PRO:
The couple must be a male and a female and will compete in a choreographed routine. The duration of the routine must be between 1:50 and 2:30 minutes where 80% of the performance must be Bachata. This includes all the different styles of Bachata (Sensual, Dominican, Modern or Bachatango). The choreography must maintain a consistency in the timing, the choreography starts with the man using his left on number 1 and must continue this way. A competitor cannot freeze for more than 8 continuous counts.
Lifts/Aerials: A total number of 3 lifts is allowed. If for any reason more than 3 lifts are performed there will be a 10% penalty from the final score of the competitors.
Tricks: A total number of 3 tricks is allowed. If for any reason more than 3 tricks are performed there will be a 10% penalty from the final score of the competitors.
Continuous turns: Maximum number of turns permitted is 4 counts of 8 beats. If the competitors exceed this number, they will have 10% penalty from their final score.

The Competitor must be a professional lady dancer who is over 18 years old. She will compete in a choreographed routine. The duration of the routine must be between 1:20 and 2 minutes where 80% of the performance must be Salsa, maintaining the same timing, dancing on1, on2 or Cuban. A competitor cannot freeze for more than 8 continuous counts.
Tricks and aerials are permitted.

The Competitor must be a professional man dancer who is over 18 years old. He will compete in a choreographed routine. The duration of the routine must be between 1:20 and 2 minutes where 80% of the performance must be Salsa, maintaining the same timing, dancing on1, on2 or Cuban. A competitor cannot freeze for more than 8 continuous counts.
Tricks and aerials are permitted.
πΊπ SALSA COUPLE PRO AM:
The couple must be a male and a female and one of them must be a professional and one amateur. They will compete in a choreographed routine with a duration between 1:50 and 2:30 minutes where 80% of the performance must be Salsa. The amateur must be minimum 14 years old. In this division only the amateur is judged. The choreography must maintain a consistency in the timing, if the choreography starts on 1 style, must continue on 1 style, and if the choreography starts on 2 style or Cuban style must continue on 2 style or on Cuban Style. A competitor cannot freeze for more than 8 continuous counts. In this division, only the amateur is being judged.
Lifts/Aerials: In this category lifts and aerials are not allowed and there will be a 10% penalty from the final score of the competitors for each lift or aerial performed.

The group will consist of 3 or more pairs and they will compete in a choreographed routine. The routine must be between 2:30 and 4:00 minutes. One person can only dance for one team. 1/3 of the team members can be pro. Up to 3 songs can be mixed up.
Other structures than a circle may be used during the dance, although never exceed 50% of dancing time.
ππ REGGAETON LADIES GROUP
The group will consist of 4 or more ladies dancers, they will compete in a choreographed routine and the routine must be between 2:00 and 4:00 minutes where 80% of the performance must be Reggaeton. One person can only dance for one team. A competitor cannot freeze for more than 8 continuous counts. 1/3 of the team members can be pro. Up to 3 songs can be mixed up.
Lifts/Aerials: A total number of 3 lifts is allowed. If for any reason more than 3 lifts are performed there will be a 10% penalty from the final score of the competitors.

A competitor cannot freeze for more than 8 continuous counts.

π JUNIOR/CHILDREN/KIDS SALSA SOLO:
The Competitor can be Male or Female. They will compete in a choreographed routine with a duration between 1:20 and 1:50 minutes where 80% of the performance must be Salsa, maintaining the same timing dancing on1, on2 or Cuban. A competitor cannot freeze for more than 8 continuous counts.
Tricks and aerials are permitted.
JUNIOR is considered someone who is between 14 and 17 years old.
CHILD is considered someone who is between 10 and 13 years old.
KIDS is considered someone who is between 6 and 9 years old.
ππ JUDGING CRITERIA ππ
TIMING: Timing consists the 20% of your total score. You must dance on the rhythm of the music and show your basic and timing to the judges. In Salsa you can dance on1 or on2 but you must keep the whole routine with the same style.
MUSICALITY: Musicality consists 15% of your total score. Judges will evaluate your interpretation of music using tricks, patterns and footwork.
TECHNIQUE: Technique consists 15% of your total score. You have to show to the judges the quality of your movement and the way you execute turn patterns, tricks and footwork.
DIFFICULTY: Difficulty consists 15% of the total score. The more strength, speed, balance you need to perform your routine, the more difficult the routine is considered, the more points you get from this category.
CONNECTION: Connection consists 15% of your total score. In this category, you are requested to show the connection with your partner, your teammates and the audience. Show your leading and following and your synchronization with your partner or team.
CHOREOGRAPHY: Choreography consists 10% of your total score. Your routine must have nice flow, match with the music and has to be as unique as possible.
OVERALL APPEARANCE: Overall Appearance consists 10% of your total score. Dancers posture, the entrance and exit from the stage and dancersβ costumes affect this category.

Competitor pass: If someone who wants to compete does not have a full or day pass and must pay the competitorβs pass which is 25β¬ for adults and 15β¬ for Junior/Children or Kids division.
Combination pass: If someone Pro or Am is competing to more than one category, there is going to be a discount of 20% at his/ her total fee.

All division winners can compete next year without paying the fee of the division they won. In case of couples, must be the same couple.
ππ DEFINITIONS ππ
PROFESSIONAL is considered someone who is over 18 years old and is receiving financial from teaching or performing Latin dances
AMATEUR is considered someone who has never been financially compensated from teaching or performing Latin dances.
TRICK is considered a move which one partner is executing with the assistance of the other partner and one foot remains on the ground or maximum 10cm above the ground and there is still a conduct between them. Out of balance move is considered a trick.
LIFT is considered a move which one partner is executing with the assistance of the other partner and both feet are off the ground and there is still conduct between them.
AERIALS is considered a move which one partner is executing with the assistance of the other partner and both feet are off the ground and there is no conduct between them.
CONTINUOUS TURNS are turns that are executed without any stops.
CONTINUOUS TRICKS/LIFTS/AERIALS: if you execute more than one trick, lift or aerial without a stop, that move counts as one trick, lift or aerial.
ππ OTHER INFORMATIONS ππ
The competition will take place at the venue of La Torre Dance Festival on Friday night. Rehearsals will be earlier at the same day. Participants must show themselves by Friday noon at 15:00 to the registration desk. If the participants for serious reason shows up after that time, they have to inform the committee. If this does not happen the participants are going to be rejected.
La Torre Dance Festival reserve all Rights of all videos and photographs from the competition. The material can be used for whatever reason the committee of the La Torre Dance Festival considers useful. The participants do not get any financial compensation from this.
All Division will be carried out if there are more than 3 participants. Maximum number of participants for each division is 10. If there are less than 3 participants, La Torre Dance Festival has the right to cancel the division. If a division is complete before the closure date La Torre Dance Festival will announce that the Division is complete and it will not accept any more participations.
In order to register to the competition, you have to send an email to [email protected] until 31 of August 2020. After that date all registration will be rejected. At your registration email you need to include the participants names, the divisions you are going to compete, the country you come from and conduct information.
All Participants will have to sign a Liability release form that says that La Torre Dance Festival has no responsibility for any loses of personal belongings or injuries during the competition.
Stage approximately 100m2. No talc is allowed to be used during the competition and no theatrical elements can be used.
Music must be sent in mp3 form, with participation email at the speed they wish to dance. Participants must pay attention at the duration of their song, for every five seconds less or more than the allowable limit there is going to be one-point deduction from the total score. All participants must also have their music in usb stick.
Division Fee must be arranged within 7 days of your registration with final date 31 of August.
All participants must show professional behavior towards other participants, La Torre Dance Festival committee and especially to the Jury. Juryβs decision is final. Any participant who does not behave properly will be rejected from the competition. All Competitors will be able to see their detail score and discuss with the judges at the end of the competition. For any disagreement regarding your score, you can address to La Torre Dance Festival committee. In case of a tie, the judges will have to make their final decision after a short discussion between them.
