Staring off the month of October, we are bringing back another community favorite: 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 & 𝐀 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬! Three Swings And A Miss are a vintage style jazz band that performs all of our favorite hits as well as their own original music. While they are known for many styles of performance such as the golden jazz era of the 1930s or Hollywood glamour, what makes this band especially exciting is that they are also a cultural swing band! Meaning; all their band members have the knowledge & experience to perform specifically for swing dance events. We are excited to once again feature Noelle Goforth & her band for our Summer Swing series! Spread the word! This class is available every Monday night. East Coast 1 is perfect if you are new to swing dancing and want to begin your dance journey. This class will cover the main fundamentals of swing dancing such as basic posture, pulsing, weight transferring & core engagement. ＬＩＮＤＹ　ＨＯＰ　２ 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Sheri Tate & Jonathan Vargas 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Following Lindy Hop 1, Lindy 2 will cover intermediate to some advanced concepts such as re-directional 8 count moves, breaks or pauses in the 8 count for musicality, connection exercises and music education. NOTE: Lindy Hop 2 will NOT cover basics of Lindy 1 and it is recommended to be familiar with triple steps, weight shifting, counter balance control & basic fundamentals of Lindy Hop 1 before entering Lindy Hop 2. We are relocating our Monday Night Swing! We have been preparing to relocate our Monday Nights for quite some time now as our contract with the San Antonio Firefighter's Banquet Hall will be ending effective November 1st 2025. The reason for this decision is due to major building renovations happening in November. These renovations will take at least 3 months to complete. Where is our new location going to be? 𝗕𝗜𝗚𝗭 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦! 𝗕𝗜𝗚𝗭 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦 is a burger joint & dance hall located off of UTSA Boulevard west bound of I-10. The dance hall has plenty of dance space, it is only 5 minutes from the San Antonio Firefighter's Banquet Hall, it has plenty of parking and you can order all the food you want from the burger joint. Lauren, the owner of Bigz Burgers has been very accommodating to us here at Alamo City Swing Revival. Because they host several other dance events each week, they are a very dance friendly business and have expressed great excitement to have us as a new tenant. Are we still hosting on Mondays? Unfortunately no. Due to the Bigz Burgers being closed on Mondays, we cannot continue to host on Mondays. As of right now, we have decided move our weekly events to Sundays earlier in the evening. As of right now, we have not officially decided on the hours of operation, but they will most likely be from 6:30pm to 9pm. Furthermore, we may be hosting on the last week of each month on Tuesday nights. The reason for this is because Bigz Burgers has contracted with the wrestling entertainment industry for the last Sunday of each month. Because of this, we are currently discussing the possibility of dedicating the last week of the month to college students. A 'College Night' per-say. On September 8th, just prior to Johnny P & The Wiseguys taking the stage, we will be hosting a survey for our members to participate in. This survey will include several changes that ACSR will be making as a result of the new venue. Please be there on September 8th if you wish to give us your input & feedback! 🚗 PARKING: Crown Ridge Banquet Hall has plentiful parking at it's location. Be sure not to park anywhere a long the frontside curb of the venue. Please utilize all parking spaces as the lot can fit up to 300 vehicles. 🍺 𝐁.𝐘.𝐎.𝐁. We have been given permission from the SA Firefighters Association to allow our guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Water bottles & sodas will remain for sale. NOTE: We have the right to deny entry or to escort guests out of the premises if we feel they are above the legal intoxication limit, are disturbing the peace, or are attempting to serve alcohol to minors. Keep in mind that this is an all-ages event and while we allow adults to bring their own beverages we must remind everyone to be responsible and follow the law
