DJ: Sheena Medicina is a life-long dancer and Ecstatic Dance journey facilitator. She cooks up fresh mixes of uplifting soundscapes with hints of cumbia, twerk, bass, pop, psychedelic downtempo, tribal electronica, house, organic & world beats, with plenty of funk & throwback tracks in the mix and always a good healthy dose of feminine medicine. Contact Improv: Michael & Maya - Maya is a researcher, visual artist and ecstatic dancer, passionate about exploring different mediums for self expressions. She has been an active member of the San Francisco ecstatic and contact dance community for many years, and came across the beautiful format of Contact Beyond Contact in Guatemala, where she took the facilitator training course with CBC’s founder. She finds a lot of joy in dance, and is excited to share this passion with others who are curious in developing a new vocabulary for movement and self expression. Michael is a musician of mind, body and spirit. He holds a Master of Music degree, and has trained and explored an array of movement, music, and spiritual modalities that he integrates into the energetic motion of dance. He studied with CBC’s founder, Vangelis Legakis, at the Taiji Temple on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. His CBC training was a culmination of experiences including studies in meditation, metaphysics, music, martial arts, and more..
