Timba con Rumba Summer Bootcamp

In this bootcamp, you’ll learn how to recognize and dance Rumba Guaguancó inside and Casino (Cuban Salsa) with more confidence, clarity, and musicality. Many dancers feel comfortable dancing Casino… until the music suddenly shifts into a Rumba Guaguancó block. In that moment, it’s easy to freeze or feel disconnected. The reason? Timba music is deeply rooted in Afro-Cuban culture, and Rumba is one of its main foundations. By understanding the rumba clave, the structure, and the energy of Guaguancó, you’ll know how to respond naturally when the music changes. Level: Intermediate Important: To join this bootcamp, you should know the fundamentals (basic step and body movement) and displacement movements such as cachán forward and to the side.
