Join us as we embark upon the second dance of 2016. This Sunday we delve deeper into our intentions with the modality Dance of Liberation, and welcome the extremely gifted multi-instrumentalist, Dj/ Producer Ryan Herr, who will provide our musical journey. As we move deeper into the winter season, we draw closer to one another developing strength and inspiration from each others reflection, from our unique gifts, collective beauty, and shared vision for the future. Come relax, explore, heal, recharge, meet friends, and awaken through dance. ◊ Ecstatic Dance LA is a clear minded, all ages, freeform dance event for people of who love movement, diverse music, healing, and soul invigorating celebration. We gather with the intention to create a safe space for our community to explore the bliss of world class DJ driven music, conscious dance, and movement as medicine. Ryan has a diverse and dynamic background of musical genres and styles and has been creating music for yoga, dance, film, and meditation. He focuses much of his musical attention to the medicinal aspects of music and dance and always incorporates a heavy dose of improvisation into his live sets. On top of his solo career he has also been recording, performing and collaborating with artists such as Shaman’s Dream, The Polish Ambassador, Wildlight, Ayla Nereo, SaQi, DJ Drez, Shiva Rea and Micheline Berry to name a few. *** Dance of Liberation with Parashakti Parashakti.org Parashakti has worked with over 10,000 dancers from around the world and led workshops and retreats at some of the world’s leading holistic centers. Her mission is to open the possibility for people to achieve a liberating sense of wholeness and joy through the fluid, healing and exhilarating integration of body, mind and spirit. The Dance of Liberation® is a unique form of movement therapy which heals and frees physical, mental, emotional and spiritual blockages. Utilizing dance, contemporary shamanism, hands on healing, drumming and global music, this powerful and beautiful soul work sheds inhibitions and heightens inner awareness in a safe and carefully monitored group setting. Dancers are blindfolded in the shamanic tradition and step beyond their conscious fears and limitations to allow their innermost creative sides to break free. Dancers tune in to sound and movement to take an inner journey exploring a trancelike state of self-discovery and self-realization. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** HOW IT WORKS: To begin, a special warm up yoga or movement class is facilitated by skilled practitioners. The opening class blends seamlessly into the the two hour freeform dance journey facilitated by our guest DJ. At the end of the DJ set, we close with some sound healing, or group exercise to ground and complete the experience. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** WHAT TO EXPECT *Children under 16 dance free! *No unauthorized photo or video allowed. *Complimentary earplugs. *Ecstatic Dance is a barefoot practice.
