We're honored to kick off our third weekly dance of 2017 with the sonic alchemist IMAGIKA OM. She always brings the hypnotic vibe that inspire dancers & movement magicians of our transformational community to come out and get busy. This Sunday will be yet another amazing gathering around the love of great music, and goddess medicine of one of our favorite resident djs. One of its central principles is a rolling point of contact between two (sometimes less, sometimes more) people through which both dancers give and share weight. It’s somewhere between tango, modern dance, aikido, wrestling, gymnastics, and none of the above, and usually takes place without music. People dance contact in any combination of genders, there are no “steps,” and it’s entirely improvised. Contact improvisation is one of the most welcoming and friendly (typically) musicless dance forms that you can do. Ferguson) is a Healer, Professional Actor, Dancer, and Martial Artist, Reiki Master, Bodyworker, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Minister, & Dancing Freedom Facilitator. He is the Co-founder/producer, resident facilitator, and healing arts practitioner of Ecstatic Dance Los Angeles. He resides in Echo Park LA, where he runs ‘Angelic Presence Healing Practice’ doing massage, energy healing, private yoga instruction, and spiritual guidance counseling. The opening class blends seamlessly into the the two hour freeform dance journey facilitated by our guest DJ. At the end of the DJ set, we close with some sound healing, or group exercise to ground and complete the experience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** WHAT TO EXPECT *Children under 16 dance free! *No unauthorized photo or video allowed. *Complimentary earplugs. *Ecstatic Dance is a barefoot practice.
