As the Chinese New Year of the Fire Monkey gets ramped up, we welcome you to dance with the changes all around. The monkey represents themes of unpredictability and the need to be able to improvise with lifes constant, sometimes sudden twists and turns. On Sunday February 21st, we will come together to celebrate the ability to be agile, nimble and able to move freely in response to everything that comes up in life. Join us for the return of the world celebrated DJ SOL RISING at Ecstatic Dance LA. He will be providing a sonic wave of deliciousness during our freeform dance journey. His set will be preceded by a one hour contact improvisation warm up led by Atasiea. We welcome you to come supple up your bodies, minds and souls, and celebrate with the EDance tribe in ecstacy. ◊ Ecstatic Dance LA is a clear minded, all ages, freeform dance event for people of who love movement, diverse music, healing, and soul invigorating celebration. Contact Improvisation is a form of dance improvisation, and is one of the best-known and most characteristic forms of postmodern dance Atasiea - ‘Oneness’ (a.k.a. Kenneth Lawrence Ferguson) [Ah-tah-see-ay] is a certified Dancing Freedom Facilitator, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master, Minister, Energy & Bodyworker, Professional Actor, Dancer, and Martial Artist. He is the Co-producer, resident facilitator/ instructor, and healing arts practitioner of Ecstatic Dance Los Angeles. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** HOW IT WORKS: To begin, a special warm up yoga or movement class is facilitated by skilled practitioners. The opening class blends seamlessly into the the two hour freeform dance journey facilitated by our guest DJ.
