TONIGHT!!! - SPEAKEASY Live Electro Swing Special

After a dazzling September show Leeds’ longest running electro swing night returns to Hifi with a live electro swing special, featuring an array of DJ’s playing the freshest tracks and all the usual frills and spills we have come to expect from this vibrant event.. Join us as we romp through time to a more decadent age, serving up a smorgasbord of musical styles including Hip Hop, Breaks and House topped off with vintage samples, jazzy hooks and live brass. See Hifi transformed into a glitzy 1930’s speakeasy adorned in gold décor, sumptuous red velvet and swinging visuals. Watch in amazement as our resident cabaret troupe liven up the stage with dazzling hoop displays, juggling feats and cabaret spectaculars. As if that wasn’t enough, to top off this month’s extravaganza we will be joined by one of the most exciting and fastest growing bands on the scene, fresh from their debut festival season. ★ The After Hours Quintet ★ a fully live 5 piece electro-swing band that has been making waves on the Uk electro swing scene since its formation last year. The Quintet’s sound draws influence from a wide range of Jazz styles including; Swing, Trad Jazz and Be-bop and fuses them with heavy beats and chunky bass lines from a wide range of modern dance styles including House, Hip hop, Dub and Drum and bass. After a year of triumphant international shows including warming up for Parov Stelar Band, headlining the Middle East's very first electro swing event 'Electro Swing Beirut', and representing the UK electro-swing scene at Electro Swing Club Paris' event 'Electro Swing Battle of the Year: La nouvelle vague Française VS. The nu-skool UK", Wolfie descends on home turf for a night of homegrown Leeds madness. ★ Ocelus ★ the musical director for The Happy Slap Boutique and producer for the live dance music act Faceplant. His DJ sets are renowned for their jump up party vibes, fast paced style of mixing and mash up mastery. ★ Heinrik von Trap ★ will be warming up the event with some swing classics and Hip Hop inspired vintage beats As ever we strongly suggest you dress for the occasion!
