About this Event

Building on it’s motto, “Touch the World”, Island Touch Dance Academy is coordinating a global effort to impact communities locally and abroad. In it’s first annual “Touch the World Day”, each of the more than 40 Touch Teams worldwide has committed to take on one initiative to make a difference. Chicago Touch will lead the following three efforts to touch people locally and abroad: On Tuesday, March 25, members of Chicago Touch will be visiting the Chicago Area Big Brothers/Big Sisters program to teach a bachata class and perform for the little brothers. At the social on Friday, March 28, Chicago Touch will also host a book drive. The team is asking for age appropriate books for children ranging from 15 months old to 12 years old, in English or Spanish. The books will be donated to El Hogar Del Nino, an NGO that provides educational programming and counseling to the children and families of Pilsen and Little Village. The first book an attendee donates will reduce their admission from $12 to $10. Finally, all proceeds (after expenses) from the March 28 social will be donated to Charity Water. You can check out our campaign page at the following link: http://my.charitywater.org/chicago-touch-touch-the-world-social In the ticket section you will find a list of appropriate books that you can bring. Come join Chicago Touch on March 28, 2014 and dance for some great causes as we celebrate the first “Touch the World Day”. Toca!!!
